Day 1
Airport – Negombo

Highlights:
Negombo city, Fish market, dutch fort, Angurukaaramulla Temple, fishermans bay, St. Mary’s Church, Dutch Canal, Fishes drying on the beach.
if interested you can take a Dutch Canal or Muthurajawela Marsh private boat tour.

Day 2
Negombo – Pinnawala ( Elephant Orphanage )

It’s the world’s first elephant orphanage established to feed, nurse and house young elephants lost or abandoned. Visitors at the orphanage could see the baby elephants being fed milk from gigantic feeding bottles, definitely an unforgettable sight! The sanctuary is spread over 25 acres of lush forest with a wide river flowing through it.

Habarana

Habarana enables you to use it as a base to visit all places of interest within the cultural triangle or as a point to break your journey before going to the East coast beaches for sun and surf or going on safari to Minneriya or Kaudulla National Parks to observe wildlife.

Habarana – Sigiriya

Built 1600 years ago, Sigiriya is an exquisite example of ancient Sri Lankan art and architecture. Wander around its ruins. Climb to the Sky Palace, stopping on the way to admire the Frescoes of the ladies of the king’s harem, then continue to the on summit and be astounded by the panoramic view that awaits you.

Minneriya National park

Minneriya 24 species of Mammals have been recorded from the park. In addition to having a very large population of Elephants in the park, Minneriya also has all other big game like Leopards, Sloth Bear, Spotted Deer, Sambar Deer, Wild Buffalo, Wild Pig, Grey Langers, Purple-faced Leaf Monkey, three species of Mongoose, Porcupine & Indian Pangolin.

Habarana – Dambulla cave temple – Spice Garden

The fascination of these caves is not only the statues but also the many intricate and delicate paintings that cover the ceiling and walls, created with indigenous traditional paints.

Kandy Tooth relic temple – Cultural dance

Tooth relic temple, The beautiful city, surrounded by hills and valleys, rivers, lakes and cascading waterfalls, boasts of the Royal Botanical gardens at Peradeniya.

Day 5
Kandy – Nuwara Eliya ( by train )

Nuwara Eliya, also known as ‘Little’ England’, was the favorite hill station of the British who tried to create the resort into a typical English Village. The old brick Post office, country house like hill club, with its hunting pictures, mounted hunting trophies and fish, and it’s strict formal dinner attire; the 18 hole golf course, race course etc., evoke nostalgia of Colonial British Ceylon.

Nuwara Eliya – Options- Horten plains or Water rafting

World’s End / Waterfalls – HORTON PLAINS NATIONAL PARK, Sri Lanka is undoubtedly one of the world’s best nature reserves. Spanning approximately 10,000 hectares the park is also home to a wide variety of flora

Colombo

The city is a jarring mix of old and new, with a central cluster of high-rise office blocks and hotels overshadowing red-tiled colonial-era buildings and sprawling street markets which overflow with high-piled fruit and vegetables, colourful silks and cottons, and deliciously fragrant spices. On its crowded streets stand places of worship, symbolic of Sri Lanka‘s multiethnic heritage: graceful Buddhist viharas (temples), for instance, stand close to extravagant temples encrusted with Hindu statuary, along with Muslim mosques with minarets scattered along Colombo’s streets.
